Privacy policy

Maison Automobile ("we") values the protection of your personal information. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how we use and protect it, and what your rights are. It is established in accordance with Québec legislation applicable to the protection of personal information in the private sector.

Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect:

- your driver's licence information and date of birth;
- the information needed for payment and the security deposit;
- information related to the rental (vehicle, dates, mileage, incidents);
- information collected while browsing our site, where applicable.
3. Purposes of collection

- enter into and manage your rental contract;
- verify your eligibility and prevent fraud;
- process payments, deposits, and insurance claims;
- comply with our legal and regulatory obligations;
- communicate with you about your rental.

By providing us with your information and entering into a rental contract, you consent to its use for the purposes described. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to information necessary to perform the contract or required by law.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your information. We may disclose it, to the extent necessary, to:
- the insurer and the vehicle's owner, in the event of damage or a claim;
- our payment processing providers;
- competent authorities when required by law.
If information must be disclosed outside Québec, we carry out the required assessment to ensure adequate protection.
6. Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations, after which it is securely destroyed or anonymized.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access your information, to have it corrected, to withdraw your consent, and, in cases provided for by law, to request its deletion or that its disclosure cease.
8. How to exercise your rights
To exercise your rights or for any question, write to us at the address indicated in section 1. If our response does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
9. Security
We implement reasonable physical, organizational, and technological measures to protect your information against loss, unauthorized access, disclosure, or improper use.
10. Cookies (website)
Cookies may be used to ensure the site functions properly and to improve your experience. You can disable them in your browser.
11. Changes
We may amend this policy. The current version is the one displayed, bearing the effective date indicated above.
